UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland and the challenger Dricus Du Plessis keeping things heated for their championship fight at Canada on January 20th, 2024. They are going to kickstart the year 2024 for The UFC, and they want everyone to keep their eyes on the fight.

Strickland started the press conference praising Du Plessis for his recent win over former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker, and acknowledged the challenge ‘The South African’ going to bring inside the octagon. But, things really caught on some heat after some personal stuff was being thrown by both fighters.

At UFC 2024 Seasonal press conference, Strickland said-

“Dricus is a tough m*** f*** dude! Look at this f*** guy you know! Walked through Whittaker, tough guy! The only thing Dricus, don’t let your coach grab your d**** no more! We ain’t about this s** guys! This s*** is gonna throw me off! I am gonna be fighting to look over and they be making out and s*** I can’t have this s*** let’s just have a nice and clean fight! No d*** grabbing!”

Dricus Du Plesssis also replied to him with some humor and gave him some praise for defeating Israel Adesanya-

“Well, I mean this was probably not the worst advice in the world. But, I mean Sean Strickland as a fighter, the guy came out short notice and beat one of the best middleweights ever to do it. He did that in spectacular fashion, he deserves all the respect he is getting and I think he is a tremendous fighter, and we are gonna have a heck of a fight come 20th January!”

Strickland and Du Plessis went back and forth a few times, and with their personalities the element of respect was there. But, Strickland decided to make things more interesting by instigating Du Plessis and telling him they don’t need to become friends before this championship matchup.

Strickland said-

” I like Dricus! But, we are gonna fight each other, and we don’t gotta be friends, I don’t got to be your coach, I am not trying to grab your d***. You wanna talk about scared, Dricus had a pretty easy fight with Whittaker to his credit, injury free! They offered him a world title, and he said- ‘I rolled my f*** ankle’. They offered me that, you did jack s*** nothing and I answered the call!”

Dricus replied-

“You are not championship material, you won by fluke, and that’s the highest point in your life! You didn’t even finish him, that’s not called walking through, you know how you walk through somebody? You knock them out! You force the ref to stop- ‘you are going to kill this man!’ You don’t let a judge decide how you win the fight. I make the choice, and that’s what a man does! Try finish a fight with your 33% finish rate!”

Strickland stood on the fact that he walked through Adesanya while Du Plessis was recovering from the ankle injury, and then he discredited Du Plessis win over Whittaker, and said that he would have destroyed Whittaker also, because he only has the karate blitz and nothing else. Strickland followed by saying if he doesn’t finish Du Plessis, he would definitely punish him for 05 rounds.

Strickland said-

“Whittaker from a fighter’s perspective only had a blitz, Dricus shut it down, and he had nothing left. So, at the end of the day Dricus could fight, but I am gonna f*** do a master class on him! I am gonna f**** walk through Dricus! And I’ll tell you what, I am probably not gonna finish him because he is willing to die in that ring, and if I don’t finish him you’re gonna see 05 rounds of getting the utter s*** kicked out of him. I promise you that, to the f*** death Dricus!”

Dricus replied-

” He said he’s going to walk through me! I’m glad he knows he can’t finish me! You won’t even get close! Why you so angry? You think your Dad beat the shit off you! Your Dad doesn’t have s*** on me! I am going to show you what it’s like to beat you! Every childhood memory you have is going to comeback when I am in there with you!”
